Proper care to maintain the shuffleboard table’s original condition, placement, and unique adjustments made for optimal gameplay in your space is important because, without it, your table could become compromised which will impact gameplay and could lead to table damage. - Protect your shuffleboard from direct sunlight to prevent damaging the wood.
- Choose quality shuffleboard cleaner and wax. The specific types of products for your shuffleboard table will depend on the surface material and finish.
- Before you wax your shuffleboard table for the first time, it is very important to clean and polish it. For traditional wood shuffleboard tables, a mixture of water and vinegar is generally ideal for cleaning. For polymer finish shuffleboard tables, you can use a multi-purpose cleaner or glass cleaner.
- Waxing your table regularly is one of the most important aspects of proper shuffleboard maintenance and care. Ideally, you will apply shuffleboard wax to your table on a weekly basis (or at a minimum, twice per month) and buff it lightly with a dry, soft towel. The frequency with which you will need to wax depends on how often you use your shuffleboard table. After waxing, wait at least 30 minutes before playing to allow the wax to harden.
- Before each time you play, it is ideal to apply a silicone spray, allow it to set for a few minutes, buff it, and then apply your shuffleboard speed powder. Now you are ready to play!
